Default oil presure...

Ok can some please help me?
I think I have an oil presure problem and I'm try to make shure that it is the pump before I decide to take the oil pump out.
I just recently had the oil light come on but it only does it after I've been driving on the freeway for about 20 minutes and then when I get off and come to a stop the light will flicker. Last night I changed the oil presure sensor and installed a mechanical oil presure guage. The light didn't come on this morning and the car seem to be running fine. I was wondering if anyone knows what the presure guage is supposed to read on a 4th gen vtec. Oh and the oil level is fine I even changed the oil and filter last night.

Sorry for the long post.......but any help would really be appriciated.

Thanks.

I have an Si, but my pressure reads 20psi when i am warmed up and at idle. Driving around, i am around 60psi and when i drive it hard it will hit 80psi max at redline. When i first turn the car on, it is pretty high at idle, about 40-60psi, depending on how wame/cold it is. Good luck.

I think I have a problem also - does anyone know what the service manual calls for?

I am well above the minimum of 50PSI at 3,000 RPM, but at idle, I am anywhere from 8-13 psi when warmed up

Ok so 50psi is the min at 3000. This is a start. I'll check what I'm running at 3000 but I know that I'm running about 15psi at idle.

Anyone out there that has any info on the presures I would really really appriciate it. Anyont out there with a helms that could maybe check for us....
thanks.

20psi at idle. 80psi at wot, not just at redline.

8-13psi is definitely low

mteck, don't drive around the car anymore until you know what the problem is.

next time your oil light could flash and the car may just stop.
