B16 CRX shaking during acceleration
I swapped in my B16a2 recently and have only driven it a few times. When i acclerate it shakes very strongly and also makes a metel scraping sound when i make turns.
My suspension is the Tein Basic Damper kit.
Could the axels not be correctly installed? Anyone have advice on what to check to find the source of the shaking?
Any help would be greatly appriciated

Bad shafts, take them out and swap them at a parts store. Even new shafts can be bad sometimes, since they are all remans anyway.

Use a 90-93 integra intermediate shaft

the shaft you are talking about is the sh3 shaft from the JDM civic/crx SiR 1st gen B16A w/ the Y1 tranny, shouldnt be a problem if it is a b16a2, unless you got stuck with that shaft for some reason.
check your shaft on the bracket, if it says sh3, get a new drivers side axle or DA intermediate shaft. Did you take the dust caps off the hubs? that could cause some problems if you didnt.

Yes the sh3 shaft i beleive. There really is no difference in the blocks (b16a/b16a2).
So how would it not make a difference on the b16a2?

hey man the same thing happens to my car. IF the shafts aren't the problem check your mounts. Race mounts tend to shake a lot, the polyurethane can be stiff and cause the shake.
I bought 90-93 axles and it still shakes, haven't changed the intermediate.

correct, there isnt any difference in the blocks, but there is a difference in the code. only JDM motor/tranny combos came with the sh3 shaft because it only came with the civic/crx SiR, and only JDM engines came the code B16A, USDM Asian or European had suffixes: b16a2 & b16a3. so like i said unless he got stuck with a usdm engine with the jdm shaft, it shouldnt be a problem.

Before you get Crazy, make absolutly positive that the axle nuts and tightened and "bottommed out". If either are not, it will shake just like you described. Just a simple thing to check.
check axels first.
if theyre fine then check wheel bearing play. jack up your car, grab both sides of the tire and shake it side to side. you will have mild play but excessive shaking could be a worn bearing.
tie rod ends. excessive to would cause vibration.
basically check all your suspension components that could bend or wear.

did you take the little rings off of the outer cups on the axles that will make it shake bad and I have solid mounts on the street and my car does not shake while accelerating well maybe when they are spinning
Hey bud, I know im talking about a D-series that in our rex right now, but we had the same horrible shaking durring acceleration.
WE took her to the shop and suer enough it was the intermediate axle. Swap that out and your'll be fine.
