I'd go no wider than 6.5" for any rim (unless any other recommendation is VERY specific).
The limiting factor on 5th Gen's is the verticle arm which makes up part of the rear knuckle assembly.
As an example, I'm running 225/55's on stock SE alloys and I have but 1/2" clearance between the tire's sidewall and the V-link. That's as close as I care to go.

I have 17's that are 7 inches wide... and have no problem at all, and the car is a little dropped as well (with camber kit front and rear).

6.5 wide? Thats it? It all depends on offset and tires people.

I am currently running a 17x7.5....with an et37 offset. With a 215/45, it barely, and I mean BARELY clears. I have seen 19x8 et42 with a 225/35 fit on a 1995 Accord. He did have his fenders rolled a bit.

15x7, et30....with a 225/50...its gonna be really, really close. The 225 is about .5" lower in height than stock...but the width. Ah hell, slap it on there.

Here is a great write-up. This applies to 5th gens as well...matter of fact..we have a smidge more clearance than the 4th gen's...

Heres a good one for you guys....

Im planning on picking up a set of Volks and wondering if they will possibly fit on my 95 EX.
Heres the specs.

17x7 with +28 offset ( Front )
17x8 with +35 offset ( Rear )

Even if i run spacers would the wheels fit?

TIA

the rear should fit. I have seen 16x8 blitz 01's et33 fit the rear. You might have to roll the rear fenders just a smidge..or just run some negative camber. The fronts...

I think you can get them to fit with a stretched tire small tire, negative camber, and fender rolling. If you can get to fit, it will look mean. real mean.

Here is a shot of my 17x7.5, et37 on my car. Now, my fenders are stock..but..that will give you some idea how close a 17x7, et25 will be....

when you start taking out old ladies on the side walk, then you are too wide...

I'd say anything larger than 8"

Thats not gonna fit if your dropped. It'll look lowrider style with fatties. Spacers are also a no no. Spacers will only make them stick out farther.

Those rims are for a RWD car.

Why would you want a wider rim in the back? It's not RWD. Just stick with the same rim all around.

For any rim or model, if you run spacers get longer wheel studs. If you only go about 5mm or less with the spacer you can may be able to buy Acura 3.5 RL wheel studs I believe, they are about 5mm longer than stock 5th gen (maybe different for other years). If you plan to go with a thicker spacer than 5mm, get some ARP or Skunk2 or something that'll allow you to get proper thread engagement on the wheel studs. Open ended lug nuts may be a good idea to make sure the lug nut doesn't bottom out on the studs before it make full contact with the rim.

Thanks for the response TouringAccord.
As for the low rider stance comment, i highly doubt its going to stick out that far.
My first doubt would be the +25 offset in the front due to having the 11.2 brake upgrade and having that clear the caliper.

Plus i picked up the wheels for dirt cheap so why not try them on for a while.

6.5" if quite small. anytime you plus size, more than likely your increasing the width. i am at 16x7 205/50 dropped on race springs and i still have stock turnability.

Let me just clarify something here, because I think a one or two people in this thread might be confused. A lower offset will "push" the wheel further outward. For example, a +25 offset will stick out further than a +45 offset.

On a side note, the stock rims on my '99 Accord EX 4-cyl are 15x6, +55 offset. Most stock Accord rims should be around that, so if someone wants to start doing some calculations, have at it.

The rims currently on my car barely clear the fenders. (-1 degree camber in front, 0 in back.) I don't remember the offset, so I'd have to pull the wheel off to find out. When I have more time I'll check and post.

i think if you flip them, +25 in the back and +36 up front, they should be fine. lamsv has some wide volks on +37 offset, and i have some 17x8s with a +35 e.t. and i'm going to be running spacers on the rear to get the tire to sit right.
only problem might be the width, but try 'em on and find out!
