HELP!! lug nuts stripped on my ek hatchback, what to do??? what to do???
hey everyone, i just recently bought an ek hatchback and wanted to change the rims, all three tires came off smoothly but the third rear tire seemed to be stuck, we tried to use the power drill to take it off but it wouldnt budge so we had to do it manually, when i took all 4 lugnuts off, 3 of the metal rods (dont know what it is called) was stripped pretty bad, now only one lug nut on the tire can be tighten, what should i do guys? how much am i looking to spend? my friend said that i would have to change the whole arm, i got a free rear arm part but its for the rear right side and the tire part that is messed up is on the rear left side, would it still work? ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! sorry if its hard to understand, i dont know all the technical names and everything, hope to hear from somone as soooon as possible, thanks

Go down to your local dealer and get new studs (or lugs) you have to remove the old ones and put in the new ones. Its not that hard, you need to hammer out the old ones and then put the new ones in and tighten them in with the lug nut.
I would get new lug nuts too ,I’m pretty sure they are stripped also.

thanks cyrus, so go down to a honda dealer and get studs? thats the four metal rods right? and do i have to get it professionally installed? i have a whole right rear arm with the studs in good condition, can i just pull it off that one and put it on mines? are is it better just to buy it? and is it cheap? sorry if my questions or stupid and gets confusing, but your guys help is greatly appreciated
You can buy the studs from autozone or whatever shop for about $1 each. Then you can read a DIY thingy and try to replace them. That's what I did.

Take off your pads and calipers. your gonna need to hook up a SLIDING Hammer onto the hub and bang that **** out. this is when you put on your new Studs and you put everything back together. and thats it. 10 minutes of work You can rent sliding hammers at Schucks/kragen/checkers
sorry im retarded, i mean they ARE NOT disc breaks, my bad forgot to add the word "not" into it, so i dont have calipers or pads on my rear breaks, sorry, what would i do differently since i DO NOT have disc breaks in the rear, sorry sorry, thanks again
ohh yeaa i got a better idea how to do it now, one last question, the stripped lugs is on a drum, can i just hammer it out while the drum is connected on the car or would i have to remove the entire drum first? THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP!!
you have to take the drum off to put the new ones in anyway, so just take the drum off lay it on the ground and pound the studs out!!
Hopefully this helps...this is what I use when I stripped the threads of the lugs...I bought a thread cutter from pepboys...I forgot what the size was, but I know its the same as the lug nut...

I then screw the thread cutter on the stripped lug and turn it in and out.

The thread cutter should cut the lines back to the way it was. Be careful to line up the thread cutter correctly or it will make new threads on the lugs. This always works for me. Its cheap and easy...hopefully it helps...
