right.

that ebay header might look good now but remember you get what you pay for, I would not be surprised if it cracks.

many people have said that the headers can not handle the heat and after a short while goes bad.

They will, will not interchange

The h22 header might interchange with the F22a1
The H22 header will NOT interchange with the F22bx family of engines.
They require their own series

A curious note to your question; the F22b1 manifold fits the F22b2. The really crazy thing about it is: the F22b1 manifold/downpipe configuration is....... wait for it.........

A 4x2x1, just like the headers which are (supposedly) better.
For instance:
H22 Flange Detail

F22a1 Flange Detail:

F22b1 Flange Detail:

and
F22b2 Flange Detail:

It's Hit or miss at best when buying off EBay, buyer beware.

What other mods do you have reguarding the exhaust? I've got a 2.25 Magnaflow and a random tech free flow cat and some generic header just like the ones you are looking at and all I can say is DON'T DO IT!. My gf's car currently sounds like crap in my opinion because of the header, whether it's the quality or design, I dunno but I don't like it.

It just doesn't sound good with the exhaust anymore, it's border broken exhaust sound. Also, I've lost my low-end and shifted my power curve from low-end to mid-range which was a miscalculation. Originally I had figured that for a complete set-up I would run the 2.25 cat-back shifting some of the power curve to mid to top-end, while the free flow cat would be mid range and the 2pc header design would be better low to mid range, wrong!

I can only say, if you don't have an ex, get an ex header from a junkyard and slap that on, and if you have an ex like my gf then just get a replacement. I'm gonna try to slap the factory one back on or maybe get an actual header from DC. Good luck.

http://www.Kteller.com or random tech cat. Kteller will be a custom piece while the random tech will be a bolt-on affair. Both offer a freer flowing cat while still functioning as a car. Also, what exactly am I looking at in the pics? And you sure you can't just change the gasket to stop the whistling or maybe even having a shop reweld the portion that's been damaged? It might even be cheaper.

Also, with a 2.5 piping, you are going to lose complete low-end and even most of your mid-range power cuz most to all will be shifted to the top end and it will be loud as hell and I dunno if you have a resonator but if you don't it will sound like crap.

I also wanted to mention i have a 97 SE thats lowered 2.5 inches all the way around and have had my moments where i didnt go over somethign right.. I also dented my down pipe and IT DOES NOT whistle, the dent is about the same if not bigger or a bit smaller....

Wait, if that's the part that you need to replace then why do you need a new header? Isn't that the portion after the cat? If it is then go to http://www.TASAuto.com and they have a new intermediete pipe that'll replace that no problem.
