Default How do I mount my ECU??=(

well several months ago I wired up my apexi VAFC2 and removed my ecu cover and was too damn lazy to put the braket on, yet even bolt the ecu back down and my friends are not around so I can take a look at their cars so can anyone show me pics of the mounting confioguration? thanks I would really appreciate it. its cause I cant seem to line up the bolt and ECU loks too big in the spot. Thanks I greatly appreciate it.

what ecu are you using? if your using a p28 it wont bolt into the location with all four slots. only 2 of them will line up, so just snug it down with those 2 and put the shield back on there.

im not exactly sure which case it is. I think I used a p087 ECU and fit it in a P28 ECU case. anyone got pics of where they bolt up. I will post pics up later on.

it won't fit rigt probably you just have to get it to fit the best you can and then tighten down as many nuts as you can. usually only 2 from corner to corner

BUMP cause when people hit the ecu with their feet car almost wants to turn off cause of a loose oxygen sensor pin.

yeah the **** makes me nervous too, but it's something we have to live with. fix the loose wire is all i can suggest and cram the ecu in.

although people with wire tucks usually put all their arnesses down there and the ecu is nowhere to be seen, so people must be putting them somewhere.

yeah I checked in on my friends hatches tody and they all dont have the brackets cause of different ECU wont bolt down so they also tuck it under the carpet and just place the bracket over the ecu which also covers the harness plug to avoid hitting it constantly with your feet. so thats what I did and I can kick it all day and its fine =-) thanks for your help.

I make a special plate for my ECUs. The plate has four bolt holes for the four studs. And I have four completely separate bolts to bolt the ECU to the plate. I then tighten the plate down using the original nuts with connector nuts. I then bolt the cover plate to the connector nuts with short screws. And with this setup, I NEVER have to worry about people's feet doing damage to the ECU or wiring. But then again, I don't use adaptor harnesses.
