Default HONDA CIVIC SI: THE RESURRECTION

I WILL BE RESTORING OR "RESURRECTING" A 2000 HONDA CIVIC SI. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST CIVIC SI I HAVE DONE. THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY WRITE-UPS HERE FOR SWAPS, MODIFICATIONS, AND CONVERSIONS BUT I HAVEN'T REALLY SEEN ANY RESTORATIONS. I WANT TO SHARE MY PROJECT. FIRST LET'S START WITH A 2000 HONDA CIVIC SI.

A FEW BEFORE PICS...........

TIME TO GET STARTED. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THIS CAR. DAM THIEVES REALLY MESSED UP THIS ONE. THAT YELLOW APPEARS TO BE SOME KIND OF SPRAYPAINT AND LOTS OF SCRATCHES. SEEMS LIKE THEY WANTED TO GIVE THE CAR A PAINT JOB. LOOKS LIKE THEY WANTED TO HAVE THE DOOR JAMBS MATCH THE EXTERIOR.

NEED TO GET THOSE JAMBS CLEANED UP. MUST REMOVE PAINT WITHOUT REMOVING PAINT. CLEARING THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR JAMB.

SPRAY FIRST THEN SCRAPE

THEN WIPE OFF THE PAINT

FINALLY CLEARED A SECTION
WILL HAVE MORE PICS LATER.

Looks good! Keep us up to date!

Last year I bought a wrecked SI for the engine so I have many extra parts.
Lemme know if you need anything, looks like you need a few dash parts, headlights and tailights. I have a full set of seats too.

Remember to take tonnes of pics ofr the progress, trust me you will enjoy looking at them later. Its nice to see where all your spare time went :D

They left the motor and the rims? Terrible and stupid thieves. Good luck with the project.

I GUESS I AM LUCKY THIS CIVIC IS NOT STRIPPED TO A BARE SHELL LIKE MOST OF THEM END UP. RARE THAT A CIVIC SI WILL BE LEFT WITH THE MOTOR AND WHEELS WHEN IT GETS STOLEN. I WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE THIS FOR $3500. STILL LOTS OF WORK TO BE DONE. BUT THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT EVERYONE. I 'LL POST SOME PICS SOON.

Use laquer thinner to remove the spray paint...Spray paint is not catalyzed so it will wipe off easily without damaging the blue.
