Please Help!!!!!
I have a B16a in my crx, it's been running great for the past year and now it isn't running right at all...... It doesn't idle steady and when you give it gas it sound like its not running on all four cylinders "Like A WRX". I've spent lots of money trying to fix it and all its doing is pissing me off. please help me........
I have done: new plugs, new wires, new JDM b16a distributor with cap and rotor, new knock sensor, new oil with new filter, fuel injection cleaner, octane boost added to 89octane gas.
I think like 175 or something???? not sure and you just added 89 in it? you should be runnin a premium gas anyways your motor has 10.2 compression ratio, trust me it loves the high stuff... and is it overheating????? smokin?????

From normal idle, when I floor the pedal it bogs until like 2500 rpms, where it picks up to normal idle. When I press softly the idle picks up noramlly. Do you think it could be EACV? Injectors? Timing?</TD></TR></TABLE>
having same problem it sounds like....mine was overheating... i think.... my temp guage will shoot up to hot, stick for a min, then fall to norm. this happening to you? late opening thermo?

so i took the fuel filter out and it was hella dirty and installed a new one, the car started up better but i figured out that it isn't running on number one cylinder.... What can it be.... I have the new distributor with cap and rotor and new plug wires and i've tried 2000 SI plugs and 95' Delsol B16 plugs.... what could it be???? And it's not throwing any codes.........
Are you 100% sure that the plug wires are in the correct firing order..?
Also like these guys said dont run 89 on that engine..It needs atleast 91..
And get a compression test if nothing else works..Mine was 180,180,175,180..And its a healthy engine..This was with a 1g b16a

I am thinking fuel injector. That is if you haven't bent a valve. Have you done a compression test yet?
Take a long screwdriver and touch the blade to the #1 injector then stick the handle in your ear and see if it is ticking. If it is it still could be plugged with crap.
I have seen EGR valves make something like your problem you are having. What happens is the passageways are plugged to #2,3,and 4 but #1 was not plugged and it seemed like it wasn't firing. Too much EGR into one cyl. equals misfire.

So i was driving it one day and when i guned it, it started cutting out and wouldn't bust vtec... So i work on it and replaced the knock sensor and it still did it so i checked my timing and i found out that my disributor was junk cuz the damn bearing inside the locked up and i couldn't hardly turn it with my fingers.... So i installed a brand new one. So now the motor isn't running on #1 cylinder and about the comment earlier... JDM b series motors don't have a EGR valve!!!!!! I talked to a honda/acura tech about it and he says that they don't have them..... I'm gunna check the compression and see if it still is good... I'm thinking that it should be cuz theres only 40,000 miles on the motor... I have run it on "plus" gas since i installed it and it's always run fine..... I don't know what the comp ratio is cuz the whole motor has CTR internals. I'm hoping that it's something as simple as fuel injectors or something cuz i've got so much into this motor and i hate to just see it get torn apart... If it was a valve that got bent what would you suggest putting in it... Factory "CTR" valves or some aftermarket ones?????
