Default Installing Strut Bars

I am getting a front strut bar and a rear lower tie bar and was wondering what the best way to install it. Should I relieve all the pressure off the tires before installing it? I am getting these used and they probably don't have instructions. If I do need to relieve all the pressure off the tires what is the best point to jack it up at?

you dont need to relieve tire pressure. the fastest and easist way is to jack up the whole front and use jack stand that way the chasis does not bend in. then put it on., the rear lower tie bar is a bizatch to do. you have to jack up the whole back end. and use an impact or torque wrench. i havbe an air gun so it was a little easier.

I have the air tools, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm just not sure where to place the jack, but I did find my floor stands so I guess I could use those

I didn't even jack my car up, i just did it while it was sitting on the ground for the upper front and upper rear. I had a local muffler shop throw on the lower rear for $10 since i dont have an impact wrench or air tools.

Front Strut Tower Bar Install:

I would leave the car on the ground to start. Attach one side loosely. If the other side lines up, great.

If they don't then you have two choices:

1. If the bar "seems" too LONG, then jack the car up from the MIDDLE tow hook until the bolts line up with the bar. Jacking up from the middle will spread the strut tower apart.

2. If the bar "seems" too SHORT, then jack the car up from the side jack point. jacking up from the side will make the strut tower come together.

Torque the bolts to spec and lower the car to the ground and your off.

thanks, hopefully it will be here by Monday. Got a hell of a deal on ebay, DC Front Strut and Rear Tie, DC CAI, DC Oil Cap, Honda half bra and clear sidemarkers for $305. I already have a generic intake and the sidemarkers, but will probably sell them to recoup a little money.
