Default Anyone have info ona rhino lined hatch ? i searched...

Alright so the whole gutted rear is getting annoying hearing everything, along with the ugly look. I am thinking about rhino lining the rear hatch. Has anyone actualy done this? How did it sound? pics? I searched and it was only people asking this question and everyone telling them how stupid it is, ect.

I have thought about this as well. I have the interior from the carpet forwad but because of the roll bar and other stuff in the rear of my car the rear interior does not fit and therefor it is just easier to not have it in there. I was never able to find any one that had done it but I would be interested if you could find someone or if you do it yourself.

OK, this was done around 2 years ago and has held up pretty well. It was all done with 2 cans of truck bed liner, just a thin coat.

Sorry about the picture quality.

Oh yeah, its still loud as hell. I just did a thin coat to cover up how crappy it looked after I scraped out the factory soundproofing.

Lol, that was fairly amusing. I was thinking about doing the same thing, but then carpeting the entire rear with a thin foam mat underneath it. Still thinking on it infact.

im considering putting ice guard ( roofing material similar to dynamat) all over the rear and then building a false floor out of some MDF and throwing carpet over it. any ideas on that?

Other than sounding kinda heavy weight wise I think it would look ok but not great.

I plan on using this stuff. I took everything out, just need to get it.
You can also use this stuff under the car. I have searched here but nothing came up. I found it on the s2k forums.

Lots of s2k guys have used this. Just put quietcar in the search and you get all the info you need.

The stuff I used is not heavy at all. It was around 3-4 dollars per can. Its basically a rough spray paint.

I plugged all the little holes and then used the rubberized truck bed coating. It scrapes off when I put parts and **** in there but I just respray those areas and it looks fine. I dont think it helped much with road noise, but make sure you plug all the little holes back there, I used a hot glue gun.

If you want it quiet use something that works. You dont use something that protects a bedliner.

Once again ill post the link. http://www.quietcoat.com/index.html
Its also lighter then D-mat for you that think that 10 lb means everything.

Or

You could use some cheap **** and get what you pay for. Have fun takin it out.

i got a great deal on a interior, so im back to stock however i am going to ice guard the whole floor, and then try some of that liquid sound deadener in the doors and possibly the headliner if i have enough left over.

I wouldnt worry about the headliner, just the floorboard. And you can stuff foam padding in the side panels in the back to save weight

I don't have a hatch...but I got the trunk of my coupe spraied at line-x(the spray on truck bedliner) worked out great! the material got in all the cracks and gaps, and sealed them up. Im goin to get the rest of the trunk done as well. My sub box is spraid as well. this **** works great for sound. I'll post some pix as soon as I get home. line-x plus its not a whole lot of weight.
