Help on a b20b swap n a 95 honda civic CX doing it this weekend!!!????
Hi i just bought a 95 honda civic cx and even before I got the car home the oil pump went out and the motor locked up. So I got a lil money but I am doing a b20b non vtec swap. the question that I have is do I have to change the spindles for the axles or do they just slide right in? The reason that I am asking this is cause I have a 91 hf bone stock and I have a b16a swap in it and I have to get the 93 integra front spindles. now I am doing it the cheap way getting stock motor mounts and shift linkage from a junk yard Im on a budget and I dont have a job right now thats y. I know the intake mantifold has to be switched out with a ls. But what else do I need to know. Im putting a stage 2 competition clutch in as well and doing the water pump and timing belt.
do all the jdm motors come with broken knock sensors?
my last one did I really want my guy to do the swap but 700 dollars I dont have I know how to d othe swap its just I want to know what I need all before I offically get started. Sorry about this annoying tread I tryied to search though. Thanks Mark

you could try to make the axles fit but chances are your going to need ones specifically for the tranny your using. my advice, get an Si tranny and axles. lots of torque with short gears equals fast acceleration.
well I was going to go turbo but now that I might need to get a new tranny I dont have a extra 800 dollars to throw down on a tranny im on a limited budget right now. I was going to go with a d15b vtec cause I just bought this vafc controlller yesterday for it and then somone said go with a b20b its cheaper

are you kiding me? Bro put the motor in your car and you'll see that any b series axles fit that tranny. I have a b16a2 in a civic cx. I am using type r axles. before i used type r axles i had factory cx axles. Also i have integra type r axles for sale(an extra set i have lieing around) Im selling those for 200. If your interested PM ME.
2 things the crv engine is a cable shifting tranny and AWD so i dont think its gonna work period unless you are getting a bseries transmission other than the one from the crv.

Not all CRVs were AWD if I recall are you sure that the non-AWD CRV tranny would not work in this application?

yeah well I guess I am just going with the d15b vtec motor now But I know thats going to be slow but I did buy a vtec controller s othat might work out. but qwhat do you guys think about a d15b jdm motor should I use the tranny that comes with it?
there are 5speed fwd b20s. your looking at a bored out LS, thats it.
if the b20 your buying comes with a 2wd 5 speed tranny, any b series axles will work. the b20 axles might not, i beleive they have prelude/accord sized outer joints and wont fit your hub.
my freind showed me the cheap way to made STRONG axles without buying $600+ sets.
his setup was a h22 in a civic. he used h22 inner(tranny side) and outer joints, but used a shortened gsr rod part.
put accord/prelude wheel bearings into the 96+ex hubs(same size as gsr)had to machine just a bit off the hubs and he was putting down over 500hp and 10.89 passes all year on that stock axle/hybrid setup with a spool.
