Default Motor swap in a 95 cx????

I have a 95 cx and like the power and price that I can get from a f22. I have gone blank as to if this is possible? If so, would it be spendy? Because i can get a hold of one for hella cheap. I owend an ex accord and liked the power of it more then my ls integra. So all i'm asking is it a simple task?

Hmm anything is possible. If you REALLY wanted to swap one in, you would have to have someone put it in very special because no one in their flippin mind would want to swap one in..

On a serious note, I think the F series motors are too big for Civics. Im sure someone can put it in for you, but Im sure it would be expensive.

basically..i dont think it's worth the money..cuz yea..u can get the MOTOR for cheap..but think about mounts, conversions, axles, wiring..not to mention that the motor weighs a ton and u might have to do some cutting to the frame...i mean seriusly..i've never heard of anyone doing this b/c it's too complicated and once u start it..u'll be spending more and more $$ for problems u run into..i bet it's better to invest into something like a gsr or h22 if u really want power..but if u wanan be different..go for it..if u got the cash

it is basically the same swap as a H22. if you plan on throwing a turbo on it. yes its a decent swap, but it has to be the VTEC F22 because the non-turbo is a total dog. the f22's run 8.8:1 CR and will handle 10lbs of boost all day. At 10lbs of boost you should put down around 220 WheelHP.
NA: i'd say its not worth it. only 145-155HP stock.

plus you will be different.

i'm jus curious, because i believe it should swap in because if h22a can fit this should. I is the vtec engine and i have access to a turbo kit. I like their low compressions, but if it's gonna end up running more then i guess i gotta go b16a turbo. But seriously i would rather do f22. i've owned ls, sis, accords, and i like the power the f22 vtec puts out. Just my two cents, but if you guys are right about it being spendy then nvm that.

thanks for all the feedback guys, anymore thoughts?

yea..h22 can fit..but u can't really take hard turns..it's basically a car that goes fast in a straight line..not to mention u need something to weigh the back down with and a roll cage..an h22 motor is affordable..but all the conversions are tricky..

on the f22..i kno finding a manual ex coupe..depending on the year..but i kno 94-97 is almost impossible..b/c i tried to find one and i only found a lx manual..honestly..it's a good idea to be different from all the gsrs and b16s out there..but if u start the project..u'll be almost on ur own b/c i've never heard of anyone attempting it..so it's a big risk

if ur concerned about hte $$>.be safe and go w/ the b16

if you are going to spend the $$$ for an f22 turbo my suggestion is to take that $$$ and swap a j-spec ITR motor . would be faster and handle better

Alright... yep... F22 can be put in. H22/F22 same damn thing basically WHEN IT COMES to swapping engines. Find someone who has put in an H22 into a 5th gen & then get some info from them. I would say find someone who put an F22 in a 5th gen, but I cant think of anyone due to hp/tq gains per $$$. Not worth the money to most people.

Worthwhile?? To me... not really. If it were me I would go B16a turbo. (Since you gave that as an option) Be careful how you tune the thing & how much boost you run. The B series ring landings arent too thick & they tend to be one of the first things to go.

Suspension tuning is key. You can put a GSR engine into a lightly modded suspension 5th gen & it would understeer. An H22, not really a difference (ok, 83 lbs, so what, some passengers are bigger than that). Just mess w/ spring rates & you wuldnt even notice the engine up front.

you people are frikin stupid as ****....... a f22 too big for a civic..... haha they are at LEAST 30lbs lighter than a h22.

as for not worth the money..... well you can get a f22 nonvtec for like 300 bux complete cause noone wants the pieces of ****, you got 130-135hp and 147tq. mill the head and you can get some good gains cause they run compression lower than most factory turbo cars..... rember its a damn accord **** box motor...

as for f22 vtec.... that motor is even shittier cause damn vtec is at 2200-3200 depending on load and throttle possition
b/c its made for damn gas mileage and NOT power. below vtec it runs like a 12 valve motor with the 2nd intake valve only opening enough to prevent fuel from puddling on the valve

daxxbomb........ wtf have you been smokin......... cut the frame?? haha weigh down the back... go do some reasearch ***.

so if you wana have 30mpg and smoke tires all day cause you got 147 ft lbs tq at 4500rpm then hell yeah do that **** so i can laugh at you

and pest........ b16 turbo are you stupid.... b16 is worse than a f22... gay *** tiny motor with all of 12 ft lbs of tq at 9000000 rpms save it for your 1st gen crx

hookups-pro-crx: your kidding right??? a ITR of any kind all motor have more power than a turbo F22. come-on!!! you obviously don't know what it takes to get 220+WHEEL HP out of a NA motor and forget about ever keeping up with the torque level.
