Just wondering what oil you you guys use wit your High CR builds.

Im running 10w-40

any of you guys use 20w-50 or 15w-40 any info. Thanks

Heavy duty engine oil or diesel oil, has a lot of anti wear in it good for engines with strong valve springs. Dan

what are your bearing clearances set for?

 

I've been running Mobil 10w-30 synthetic on my 12.3:1 85x87.2 for about a year.

 

5/30 castrol for every motor thats been in my possession.

 

torco 5w30

 

Any name-brand, reputable synthetic oil should be fine.

I had my block sleeved and built by GE. They put on the build sheet 10w-30. So I have just been running Castrol syntec.

 

castrol syntec 0w-30 is way better than castrol syntec 10w-30.

or anything else they make that's ACEA A3
also, mobil 0w40 and bmw oil, which is essentially castrol syntec.

 

ya it depends on what the builder has made adjustments for on the clearance.
