this is the proper way to unscrew it

1.push the boot back (away from the ****)
2.once the **** is completely exposed, screw it off...the boot has a lip tha the **** hang on to

So when do I loosen the bottom bolt? At the same time I unscrew the ****? before? after? Also, lets say I'm looking directly down at the ****. I turn it counterclockwise right? I assume the bolt will unscrew the opposite direction as the ****.

I wish i was born with knowlege like you were.

We all had to learn about everything at one time. If no one told me and I didnt research it, how am I suppose to know? This is what internet forums are for! If it wasnt for quesitons like mine, no one would post anythign and everyone would be bored as hell at work/home.

Dude, shut the expletive up, seriously...IT'S A ******* SHIFT ****!!!! You're not welding up a custom turbo manifold or installing new pistons...jesus christ, if you are so mechanically incompetent that you can't figure out how to get a shift **** off, then you're an idiot...seriously, it's not rocket science...did you try anything besides just turning it??? Did you look under the shift boot for a lock nut, or did you just twist it a little bit and then run onto HT to find out how??? Usually i'm understanding when someone has a tech question, but this is ******* ridiculous...

wow shift ***** are different now..their not like your "ITR" and my dc2.. they don't just screw right off that easily.. the 06 si you gotta grab the shift boot and move it away from the shift know.. i believe you do the same with the EP3. so if you don't have anything nice to say don't post.. if you want to yell and **** just yell at the computer instead of making the OP look bad. so what if he has trouble with the shift ****.

to the OP:
forget guys like Curt941 and the other guy.. just listen to Type X. hes a good personto learn from..
