STILL NEED HELP! timing Q's
ok, so my car is still read funny..BTW thanks for typing up that helms page Asspenny. but anyway..so i think i have it jumped right. the CEL and SRS lights stay on and the ABS light blinks. its hooked to the #1 cyclinder. ubt even if i have it turned to the max, the best i can get is almost halfway between the red and white lights on the plastic line. no closer. white is on the rear side and red is towards the front end. what am i doing wrong? any help?
anyone? i dont want to drive her since ive already tried to adjust it...now im worried it wont be right and im going to blow up and theres going to be fire and car parts and everything else flying around!
Is your engine warmed up when testing the timing.
Your idle rpm should be 750 +/- 40 rpm
The little plug on the passenger side must be terminated with a kind of wire.
Timing should be 16 +/- 2 degrees

I went through this too so let me help you out. Make sure you're looking at the indicator at the correct angle. When I adjusted mine, all I had to do was move my head and it would look like the arrow was pointing at a different location.
As you know, the indicator looks like a box of toblerone. When looking at the indicator, make sure all you see is the triangle. In other words, make sure it's in 2D and not 3D. Hope I didn't confuse you.

how do i know what the "correct angle" is? where were you standing when you looked at it? when you say triangle do you mean the way the red, white, and plastic line all look? would a correct positioning form a triangle?
