Well just had my c5 rebuilt new rings and bearings and a slight hone. My guy came down and scoped it and when you put the scope to the water pump and the motor is cold and you barely modulate the throttle, when it revs back down you can hear a tick for a few seconds.... once the motor warmed up it won't do it at all... i've searched and i am going to pull the filter and cut it open to see if there is any copper.

I've been beating on it a little bit and the noise hasn't gotten any worse?

all bearing shavings i have see have been copper? iirc
