Default The R Bogs down =(

Okay, ive noticed since ive bought the car, which was around 2-3 weeks ago... ive noticed that when i get down on it from a stop, it pulls hard as **** through 1st, then second comes, and it feels like it bogs down around 5500-6500 rpms... Its a 98' Spec USDM Type R motor, running of a P72 GSR ecu.... just assuming now, but the ecu cuts me off at 8200 rpms, the stock Gsr cut off.... now since its not letting me run the max rpms, could it be the fact that the ecu is bogging it down through that mere thousand rpms? Also, more than likely if thats not going to be the problem, its more than likely going to be the fact that my car runs rich as ****.. im sure i just answered my own question, but i just wanted a few other peoples P.O.V's. Thanks

Edit** forgot to mention that its in a 1995 EJ1

The GSR ECU is designed for secondary butterflies, so VTEC engages low. You're running the improper ECU for your motor. Go figure.

hey, in May hondata is coming out with the s300J... itll work with your p72.. it really might be worth while to invest in it. it fits on the knock board and it only requires little modification to the ecu frame. good luck with that

you can get the ecu chipped to be used with crome or uberdata and get it tuned. and dont be revving the motor to 9k without getting it tuned. hopefully you arent one of the people that think just because you have a type r, you can rev it to 10 k all day. that **** will blow on you

Haha nah dude... i got too much left to pay on it to take the chance to blow it up... i dont really like getting down on it, but i mean what can i say... its halfway fast for a stock motor... and sometimes i cant resist.... but i understand what your sayin.. .a buddy of mine told me to get the Rev Limiter to 10 k and it'll handle it all day.. i was like naw dude, thats how you expletive something up... So uberdata or crome huh? ive heard of both, and heard that uberdata is exceptionally good, havent heard to much about crome.?! any info on it?
