Throttle body for a built 2.0L GSR
After doing some research, I have come to the conclusion that I will not be purchasing a Spoon throttle body or any of the billet throttle bodies, unless someone here can convince me why I should. I found that most people are pleased with maxbore, and I think I will go that route.
Does anyone know how the taper is on the maxbore GSR throttle bodies? I know that he does the ITR ones from 70-65mm, but on the GSR I dunno.
You can read about my setup here:

I currently have a maxbore GSR TB on my 2.0L, and it does well. I have ordered a 68mm tb to try. I suspect high end to be better, but lower end to suffer a tad, but probably not much.
I am always wondering that as well, I wish that I could see dyno chart comparisons of a 70mm and a 70-65mm on the same car (preferably mine, or one close to it).
Also test driving both of them would be nice too...to check the throttle response between the two of them on a built 2.0L

If anything stay away from skunk2 68mm tb...I have one and the coil sucks....the adjustable idle screw dont even work.....it makes your rpm act funny becuase of the way the coil is......
Someone a few posts up recommended an RPM throttle body, but I have heard of people having problems with those as well...it seems like it happens with alot of people, makes me feel safer just going with an ITR one and having it bored at maxbore. Couldnt the throttle body sticking at the wrong moment cause you to crash ?
i have an edlebrock 65mm on mine , it ******* sucks. i cant get the car to idle for crap and the throttle doesnt stick , but the car randomly idles at like 3 grand whenever it wants . tps is in spec i checked it last night, i dont recomend this tb.

I have had mine on for 3 years without any probems so far.. It been on two different setups too...

it all depends on your setup... my 2.0ltr didnt see much gain from 62mm to 68mm but there was a few horsepower difference.. i didnt see any loss on bottom. only a few more on top. different setups like different sizes.. but with the 68 i seen some gain and no loss. so it couldnt hurt to get one.. i will be running a 68mm skunk2 on the engine..

That Erick's Racing one sounds pretty good, but I dont know if it would be that much better than the bored out ITR one. I dont hear many people complain about the idle of throttle bodies from that maxbore place...
I understand that this is not a FS thread, but I have a mint used 68mm Holley TB, with TPS sensor for 175 shipped. Paypal preferred, feel free to IM me if your interested guys. Check my vouches if needed.
Damn. Now I am torn between a couple different throttle bodies, I still want to get the ITR one bored 70mm-65mm since it looks stock and probably idles great. However, you guys are making me think about a 70mm or 68mm straight through throttle body. I will probably be going with the Buddy Club 4's in this motor when I am ready to add more power, unless there is a better cam out there for me at that time.
But this is also going to be a daily driver, and wont be raced very often. So throttle response is important to me...after reading through all the topics that have been discussed in the past it seems that people say you lose throttle response with a large bore (68 or 70) straight through throttle body. So for daily driving a bored out ITR one seems to be the best one to go with, even with a 2.0L setup. Agree or disagree?

rpm throttle bodies are not straight through. they have a 2mm taper. for example, a 68mm throttle body will be 68mm at the throttle plate and 70mm at the intake opening.
we have them in stock at good prices. pm for details.

The RPM one sounds good...it is tapered so that will help with velocity as well. Has anyone experienced any loss on the low end with one of these on a setup similar to mine? I have a ported head w/valvjob btw, so the engine will breathe once I get those BC4's in there. From what I can gather this seems to be a smart choice to go with a tapered throttle body for an all motor application.
