Default what the...random misfire in cylinder 1 and 2 again...

Well, my car started weird the other day and threw cel 71 and 72, which has happened before when I started the car. It also sporadically bogs when I accelerate.

Now its been doing this for about a year, a couple months ago it would spontaneously bog enough to jerk the car and passengers would notice...when I replaced the plugs it helped and isn't as noticeable but the problem was still there and is getting worse again.

So far i've replaced plugs twice, wires, dizzy cap and rotor, ignition coil, air filter, oil/filter, fuel filter, swapped in my friends map sensor...I have no idea what else to try or what would cause a random misfire in cylinder 1 and 2.

thanks

Compression test - make sure she's squeezing enough to go boom... check for oil on the plugs also, they could be getting fouled.

Injector cleaner - You've replaced everything else that could be the problem.

The distributor could also be taking a crap on ya alltogether.

TPS may be going bad (should be between .45 and 4.5 volts, a dead spot anywhere inbetween could cause the symptoms you're talking about)

If you've recently cleaned your engine you could have water in the plug recesses, that'd do it...

Remove/inspect/clean all sensor and injector connections, look for worn spots anywhere on the wiring harness.

Mine did the same thing when I bought it almost a month ago. It was a bad distributor. I changed the cap and rotor and it ran great after that. (I also replaced the plugs and wires too, but that was just preventative)

yeah I tried replacing the dizzy cap, rotor, and coil...still the same problem. The coil was a 80 dollar part that didn't help so i'd like to test a few free things before I decide to purchase a dizzy. Wanted to try with my friends dizzy but the one on his has a different plug...
