IF YOU CAN DO THAT SET-UP, DO IT FOR A TEST. YOU GET THE WORST OF BOTH MOTORS. NO LOW-END(B16), NO HIGH-END(B20). GOOD LUCK. POST WHAT HAPPENS.

not feasible. The B20 head has a 84mm chamber resulting in a lack of seal with a headgasket.

not true, the b20 block has 84mm sleeves, not all b20 heads have 84mm combustion chambers. only the p8r and im sure he doesnt have one of those. if he does cool, otherwise he has a p75 LS head which is the same as any other p75 head from any other b18b1 engine (with minor changes like intake ports and cams)...

True. It's still a bad build.

I think its more of a "what you got laying around" build

And WHY would you need a deck plate????<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by blackhat1 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">u need a deck plate and i couldn't even tell u where to get one but good luck</TD></TR></TABLE>

Would the B16's oil squirters pose a problem?

i have no intention on building this to make power that is not my goal. i jus figured if i have these spare parts jus sittin in the garage why not put them to use? they ain doin me no good in the garage. i know that p75 combustion chambers are 81mm so thats not posin a problem. im curious why would i need a deck plate if u could elaborate. like stated before i know its not a good idea if i intend on goin fast but jus to put inside a shell to use as a daily driver rather than drivin a built b20vtec evereyday. know what i mean. thanks for the imput. if anyone has ever done this let me know what had to be mdified (if anything) and how it worked out. thanks

why bother posting this **** on hater-tech.... follow the other posts that are linked here

theres nothing wrong with this setup, its jsut the reverse of a LS vtec and has been done before. if you have a light car you want for a daily with a spare parts motor why not

Not a horrible idea but i have a strange feeling this thing is gona be too slow for a daily driver. Could be wrong though.

i thought about doing it my self cuz i had an extra gs-r botom end and a ton of ls heads, i did some research on it for the oil squirters in the v-tec bottomends to work u need a deck plate and i couldn't find a place to make me a plate and it would be a decent build, i'm sure the deck plates are out there, some where.

well, im prolly gonna try it out in like 2 months. cause im gonna have a b20 head sittin around cause im goin b20 vtec and my bro is gonna have a b16 block sittin around cause hes aboput to do ls vtec. if i go through with it ill post on here only thing i dont have right this minute is tranny but once i get my b16 tranny ill jus use the extra ls tranny i got. im sure it cant be no slower than a sohc. i looked at the links posted above and now that i think about it it might actually be a decent non vtec build if the head is done up right. cause itll rev for days. any more info is greatly appreciated and to all the haters that bitch jus cause there eyes are open, go suck a dick. who knows maybe my retard swap might be decntly quick

You need to ELABORATE on the deck plate, cause I cannot see how it is relevant in any way. A deck plate is used to bore a cyl in a closed deck motor.

Same with the oil squirters, they cool/lube the pistons thats it.

i talk to my builder he says i dont need a deck plate or anything special. i jus gotta tap the block instead of the head. we didnt really get into it but he says there isnt anyting major involved with it.
