Does anyone know how much/where it will cost to rekey your door locks?
Does anyone know where ( dealership? ) ( private company ) to re key's their door locks, for example if u were in a accident and your door is damaged , or if u get a new key for your steering column/ motor. I would want the same key to open the existing door locks. Does anyone know how much does this run? btw , does honda make duplicate keys for you, if they weren't the ones that originally came with your car? thanks
I would suggest calling a locksmith, I think they can do it but the lock cyl. needs to be off the car.
Locksmith should able to help you. I did the same to my old Mazda after I change the lock. You need to give Locksmith the lock cyl and the key which you want to use on the lock then ask them to decode the lock. It should cost around $20 per lock.
thanks for the replies, im planning on swapping in a 00 usdm motor in my project civic, IAS supplies the steering column and everything else needed, and the key. But i would only have 1, and the locks would be my old key... the acura dealership would still do it even if i have only 1 key and is not from the original car?
I got a quote when my apt got robbed and the extra keys were taken. They told me If I got the R rekeyed, including ignition key, it would cost in the 400s
