Looks like you've done a good job.

But, it also looks like you just duplicated the stock manifold. I'm not raining on you're parade but I doubt that is going to make any difference in power except maybe in the ultra high RPMs.

Not true. The velocity stacks should help with well, air velocity. Plus, that bigger plenum that will really help it breath better in all rpms. And the runners are a bit longer/larger, which should keep the motor well fed.

Nice intake for the 1.8t. Where did you source the large radius aluminum runners? Also, what velocity stacks are those?

Justin

Thanks, did not get a chance to reply, but what Finest said is what we are working on. It's for VW 20V 1.8T so don't have lots of RPM to work with. These intake are meant for street cars. Our drag intakes are a little diffrent but not by much.

Sorry Justin. We made every thing inhouse.Had the runners formed and made a drawing for the stacks and made a set.

Looks really good... Just by looking at the design, you'll know this bad boy will make more power starting off idle

Uhh, did you see pic 3 and 4? That's most definately not double the volume of the stock one. Unless by "volume capabilties" you are speaking about the flow potential?

I'm no expert but aside from the velocity stacks/bell mouths I don't see much that's going to make a measurable difference or a "feelable" difference on a street car.

Regardless, they executed it well and I give them respect for that. Sometimes it's worth the work just for the Oh **** factor when you pop the hood.

The plenum volume is larger, but on all the testing we have done, going to really large plenums there is a loss in the low and mid range and goes hard on the top end. With the VW's the red line on averge is 7000rpm so knowing this it was decided to develope and intake that would make the most of the mid range power to red line. It is being tested good or bad, will show the results, but I belive it will do well there was a lot of time developing it.
If building a drag set up then there is a host of other things to look at. More like this
