gotta big problem need help
ok, here's the deal... I just got home and noticed that the vacuum line to the FPR was split in half. The car was running fine, well somewhat with the exception of a shitty idle, and I am not sure how long it was split like that either.
Now when I put a new vacuum line on the FPR and connect it to the IM the car dies almost instantly. I played with the idle screw and ended up having to take it out to get it to hold the idle.
I am just wondering what the hell is causing it to do this to me because i want to fix it now.

anyone else have an idea about what the hell is causing my car to idle like complete ***? I just need it to hold a friggin idle when it is warmed up. It just keeps wanting to die, I think it may be that i am getting too much fuel, but I dont have a pressure guage and I have 12:1 c/r so I would rather it be a lil rich than a lil lean. ya know.
Anyway, please give me some ideas.

do that and take out the ecu fuse for ten secs....
it might work.

just unplug both the neg battery , and the fuse for the ecu.(for more than ten secs )
im dont really have a specific answer for that.
but when you wanna reset the ecu thats how you do it.
it works for my car allways...
hopefully works for you too.

well..i believe their suggestions were the right ones..and would have fixed your problem..but u adjusted with the idle adjust screw..so now ur idle is probably off, even though u reset the ecu

Might I add, that your supposed to adjust your idle screw WHEN the car is at proper running tempurature.

to reset your ecu, unhook the POSITIVE terminal, then re-enter the car and hit the gas pedal once and the brake pedal once, wait for 5 minutes, then hook everything back up and start the car and do not touch the gas or brake pedal for about 5 minutes, you will hear the car change its idle speeds but thats normal
hitting one of them (I dont remember which) will create a connectiuon and help discharge any electricity ramaining in the Capacitors in the ECU or elsewhere in the car.
well if it is electrical related i would guess it would be the brake, as that is the only one that has anything to do with electricity. all the gas pedal does is pull the throttle cable.
Well regardless, I will give it a shot and see how it goes. Thanks for all the help man.
