2 Projects: GT32 powered 1st gen crx, and a 1.6l dohc awd turbo import
Some updates on page 3

Just what i needed
Ive somehow gotten myself ***** deep into 2 project cars. What am I to do?
The first is my 1st gen '85 b16 crx that ive had for about a year now:

It was pretty quick as-is but i come from a turbo past and i couldnt take all my friends zipping around in boosted cars.
So i bought this stuff:

Garrett GT32 .78 a/r, precision 440's, lsd motorsports mani, yada yada yada. Hoping for 11's on slicks, 12's on street tires :crosses fingers:
The tear down:

More pics to come on this pig. Got a lot of cleaning/fixing up to do. As it sits now its ready to run minus a downpipe and new dizzy(
)
THEN, just recently, i stumbled on this little car. I was tired of hitching a ride to work with my gf every day while the crx is on down time. So picked this up. It needs a good amount of body work, certainly isnt the prettiest sight right now, but its a good platform and daily driver. Best of all the motor, which is what really counts, has a completely fresh rebuild(including the turbo) with receipts. Some specs:
1 of only 800 imported
rev happy 1.6L DOHC
Cast iron block
aluminum head
8:5 compression ratio
Suspenion done by Lotus
Full time all wheel drive(
)
turbo with top mount intercooler
165hp/155tq @ 7psi (can run 14.5psi before throwing codes, ecu adjusts for fuel)

I will try tokeep the thread alive with updated pics of both projects
hope you guys like
?

Regardless, still a rare car. My buddy had a Storm GSi back in the day and I allways thought it was fun little car. Would've been alot more fun if it was a turbo.
Good luck with both projects.

thank you sir. Ive always been intrigued by late 80's, early 90's factory turbo'd cars since your thread awhile back

Hmm boost it up alil higher and push it.

well GM actually used the Isuzu platform in a deal but they didnt get the AWD Turbo. so if you ever "accidently" pop the motor grab the DOHC out of the 90-91 storm as its the same engine just non turbo and different internals. or upgrade to a DOHC out of the 92-93 since it went from a 1.6 to a 1.8
