Default gsr AND turbo?

might be a dumb Q but help me out.. i want to build up a GSR turbo ,aiming 4 about 300 hp i understand i have to lower the the compression to run a considerable amount of boost.but is it worth it,really, if having vtec lenthens duration, lift and overlap than boost can escape! am I wrong? it seems correcting this would effect cam timing,(keeping overlap minimal)would that push you far out of a desirable HP/TQ range? (USING STOCK B18C1 CAMS) help b-4 my brain implodes!!!

if your aiming for only 300hp then i would think the stock pistons would be fine/ no need to lower compression, arp head studs and maybe a cometic head gasket though to be safe.

gsr cams are actually pretty good for stock boosted situations. i used em in my ls/vtec turbo setup instead of the b16 cams i had. if your really worried about getting every little pony out of those stock cams, then yes get adjustable cam gears, tune out the optimal amout of overlap and there ya go.

but really people make 500+ WHP on stock gsr cams. and no you don't have to lower your comp ration, but its not a bad idea if you can afford it.
