Are GSR cams better than b16 for turbo?

Re: Are GSR cams better than b16 for turbo? (CivicTurbo12)
YES! Thats what I did; Well in the process of doing.
(I cant remember why; but I think it has to do with the lift. Im sure someone can pull the facts out!)

skunk2 cams are going to be expensive; I picked my gsr ones up for 80 bucks. ctr and itry cams arent good for boost because those cams are designed to make compression. You want a good flowing cam with high lift (i think). Until i can afford some turbo designed cams I figured the gsr ones were a good pick up

Hmmm I am like half asleep but there was a guy here with a 612 (i think) whp B16 and he used Type R cams and just with swaping the cams from B16 to Type R he gained something like 30 poneys.....but thats for high boost also...Dude just don't worry about cams unless your going for 400+ its a waste of money IMO for anything less...but hey to each there own. I personally am going to be running Type R cams in my high boost setup.

island4drtyper, whats your setup? just wondering thats pretty good numbers, who did the dyno tuning ? I like the NEW facility you guyz moved to. In the vid. your car moves pretty good, maybe one of these weekends we can meet up at the track and run. By the way is that brian's car? anyways it's awesome looking.

Thanks numba1, the car is actually mine, Brian still has his 4dr.
It was dyno tuned by Autowave in Huntington Bch. Here's the link to my specs:

The ITR and CTR cams do NOT have too much duration for turbos, this is one massive myth. This is especially true on a vtec motor where the higher duration cams only kick in at higher RPM's, so overlap really isn't an issue.

Re: (boosted92)
so say you are planning on building the motor down the road but for now you are going to be running stock internals but boosting 10-12 PSI on a b16, would it make any difffernce to put in Gsr/itr cams??
or
just keep the stock cams
or
just keep the stock cams

this is not a good comparision as there was obviously more variables than the cams. the graph shows way more power before vtec even crosses over which in my mind suggestd a bit more boost also

I wanted to put ctr and itr cams in my car; I was told not to by a load of people....I was always told they create compression which you dont want in a turboed motor.....
Im still sticking to GSR cams here...

DAMN that would have been a killer deal!
