It's possible, but not cheap.

It certainly is possible . Total parts and labour you'll be looking in the 5-10 grand, probably closer to 10, range depending on what parts you choose.

Your probably going to need 2.0 liter build to hit that kind of power even though it is possible to hit 225-230 with a 1.8 liter.

However, your looking $3000 for the block (2.0 liter) built... and then about $4000 or so more on the head if you want to make serious power...

Doing your own work would save alot of money.

Good (bigger) cams range anywhere from 600-1100 dependind on brand.
Good header usually runs you around 800+
Then you have to think about a solid valve train and timing belt
Higher flowing intake system (maybe ITB's) if not ITB's then Hi flowing intake into a bigger throttle body and higher flowing intake manifold
Of course a good exhaust as well

If you go 2.0 liter it will be cheaper after the block build to make 220-230 wheel, but if you keep it 1.8 liter you are looking a ton of money in the head.

All depends on how much power your really trying to make. You could hit 260-265 wheel all motor with your engine if you go 2.0 liter and build the **** out of your head.... But then of course with any of this reliability becomes a factor.

Make a list of your goals for this caR so we can be more helpful

no prob man...good luck with it all, but please do ALOT of research before you do anything to that engine.

You will be surprised how much time, money, and effort it will take to achieve that kind of power... but good luck man.

I want to see pictures of this mint low mile ITR. I want to see pictures of the blind man too. Actually provide a picture with the R and blind man in the same shot.

On topic, my R used to be turbo charged... it made me really paranoid, so I went built N/A. Soon I'll be able to see what I have built. Dyno with pics and write up coming soon.
