Default Exhaust Question....

i have a performance exhaust on my prelude. My prelude is white and like the rear bumper near the exhaust turns black from where the exhaust is placed. Does this mean that the exhaust is blowing out black smoke? Is this bad? Will i pass smog?

what should i do?

I asked the same question not too long ago.
Here's the thread: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1539828

As suggested in the thread, I used seafoam. It didn't completly solve my problem, but it did make it better! It's a good product to use even if you aren't using it to fix something.. it'll clean up your fuel injectors, etc..

Apparently preludes are known to run fuel rich, so don't worry about it. The only real "fix" would be to have your car tuned, which is kind of a waste with just a few bolt ons.

As far as passing smog, if it's just a catback exhaust and you got a working cat, you shouldn't have any problems. But the seafoam will help you get pass smog too, so whatever the case is, I recommend picking up a can or two. It's cheap and you can get it anywhere. Here's a complete list of what it'll help you with:

Hope that helped.
And not to be a jerk, but you could've found any of this easily be searching
