Default Smoked taillights

I saw a pic the other day on tov.net that had a silver civic with smoked taillights, kinda thought about doing it myself, what do you guys think. I dont know much about smoking the lights like that, is it a spray, a window tint, and does it go on the outside or the inside?

I know tinted tailights, headlights, and that cover over the license plate will all get you a ticket in Texas.

does anyone know if the spray turns out better than the tint film...i have heard the film is harder to do but looks a lot better. where can i find the spray to do this at, and the tint....is it just a window tint or can you buy the " do it your self stuff" and work with it.

omg, that's one butt fugly tint. why do you guys want to tint headlight/taillight? it doesn't match the styling unless your car is dark. i am pretty sure it makes your car visiblity worst too.

not really thinking of doing the headlights because i am starting a hid retrofit with caveman here pretty soon. want to do the taillights cause i am planning on putting gun metal wheels on it, and smoking my emblems too. i think it would look good with all the other dark accents. you know if it doesn't i can always change it back.
