Default Dealing with owning a black car

I just would like to know everyone's concerns with owning a black vehicle. I am interested in hearing how people deal with issues like swirl marks, cleaning, and maintenance to keeping your cars looking nice.

Thanks,

Stock - who promised himself to never buy a black car again but has an chance to get a GSR at a fair price.

Wax it often. Dont use a dry rag to wipe dust off your car. I dont think about it too much. Black is the best color IMO

Black cars are the nicest when clean, the worst when dirty. Don't wash or wax the car in direct sunlight(sounds like a GREMLIN) I get the dust off every morning, since the car is garaged, with a California duster. As long as you get the dust off before it get swet and turns to dirt, you should be alright.

Just remember that it will be most noticed if it's black. People either tell me how clean my car looks or how dirty it does. There is no real "in-between" stage of clean. Use a California duster for dust and avoid rain as much as possible.

Be very careful with what you use to wash/wax your car.

Only use clean towels, preferably microfiber. Only use a clean high quality washmit, like a 100% cotton chinnelle wash mit, or a microfiber wash mit. Don't use sheepskin or some cotton blend, they are much more prone to swirls.

Black cars look the best when well kept, but defects and swirls are more visible on black than any other color. Just be extra careful

As far as wax goes...I use "Black Wax" on my Prelude. to me it does the best out of all of the ones I have tried. I get it at Western Auto, they are the only ones around here that carry it.

Mines black. I keep it clean, but I will never get a black car again.
