Default Is it balljoints or tierods?

I got a 89 si with 190k on it. When parked I have a little play when turning the wheel before the wheel turns also when going over bumps I get a feel of a clunk or wheel travel. I have a Tein Complete coilover setup installed less than 20k ago. Any ideas what this could be or some home test?

turn the wheel so you can reach the tie rods and yank up and down and see if it can move vertically , if so they are bad, to check balljoint jack up the car and put a jackstand under the control arm and lower the car on it slightly to put pressure on it, the pull/pry and see if the spindle moves up and down as well, if so you bj is worn
