Default ? for those riding on tein s tech's

ok, might be a real dumb questions but here it goes..

I got my springs today and was reading on the chart that I must cut the Bump rubbers on the front .2 (inc) Is that .2 inches? quater inch?

How much did you guys cut off? Thanks in advance!!

You cut the bump stop in half..If you don't cut enough off then the car will bottom out.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by jdm93cx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You cut the bump stop in half..If you don't cut enough off then the car will bottom out.</TD></TR></TABLE>

it's symantics, the car wont bottom out. The damper wont even bottom out. You'll ride the bump stops instead of getting the full travel in whatever shock you're running depending on the ride height of the car. Keep in mind, the lower the car, the less suspension travel you'll have. If the springs lower the car, you'll want to cut the bump stops by the amount the car will be lowered, but cut within reason to leave some bump stop to prevent shock damage on a hard bump where max shock compression will occur.

Right what I meant by the car bottoming out is the shock will bottom out. If the car is lowered an inch half of the bumpstop is about an inch. I cut mine in half and a few other s2k's that I have done and there was never any issues. Rode just as stock. Vapor is right the shocks will have less travel distance thats why you cut the bump stop so the car doesnt hit it. Trust me I know someone who forgot to cut it and there shocks where always bottoming or hitting the bumpstop.
