Was recently posted up on http://www.hackaday.com and I thought some of you guys might find it interesting. Its basically a guy creating a modern day, fully adjustable TIG... from the ground up.

This is NOT the alternator powered, very rigged DIY TIG... this is a fully adjustable, equivilant to most modern day TIGs project... Pretty interesting.

ugh... sick amount of work. Looks like a fun project.

 

As much as most of us make an hour, that thing would end up "costing" 5 times what a TIG costs.

But a cool project nonetheless.

Heh, but since when do we charge labor on our own projects?

 

whats the cost on something like that. i have acess to cnc mills for the pedal and such

 

its amazing what some people will do with their time...
