I miss my R and am considering picking one up again. But the fears that forced me to get rid of it are still there. Is theft still as bad as it was back then. So no parking at the movies, mall, or anything not considered your pitbull guarded garage. Ignoring the paranoia, I wonder what my $4000 insurance would look like now that I'm 27, engaged, and soon to be house owner. (Yay Geico?

Having said all that, did this previously belong to anybody here?

Your insurance will be way cheaper (if your record is clean). Buy an R, have fun with it. Consider getting a cheap daily beater also.
What is wrong with your fiances car? Can't take that to the movies and mall?

I toyed with the same idea, but theft issues is the biggest factor. I do have a garage and security at work, but I know I'll still get ulcers worrying about that car. If I sell my S, I'm probably going to be looking into an E36/46 M3.

theft has gotten worse. but i dont really worry too much, i parked my car in some not so safe looking places before. n i daily park my car in a place where it could easily be stolen. n i dont have any security on it other than an immobilizer. theft is a problem, but dont revolve your life around it, the only thing that happened to my car so far is stolen tire caps

Yea maybe 2 weeks
Stay away from the malls for sure especially the garden state plaza the black hole for cars. If you're anywhere near Newark, Jersey City, Elizabeth, Nyc I'd rather tell ya not to get one unless it'll be garaged when you're not in it driving it. Insurance will still be higher for an R than an average car. It might not be $4k a year anymore but it will most likely be high relative to what you're use to paying.

I live in between Northern and Central NJ. Cars are stolen all the time from Newark, Elizabeth, Irvington and East Orange, amongst other places.
Im told of an ITR being in one of these towns, and have personally seen one coming out of his garage. I wonder if these guys still own their cars?
And no, you cannot take your cars to the mall. Jersey Gardens mall in Elizabeth constnatly has auto thefts. You can barely get through the weekend without one. It doesnt help that Newark and Elizabeth have seaports close by and junk yards that are not all that honest.

I was driving down a street and stopped at a light. I look over and happen to see a ITR come out of a garage.
That happens from time to time. Im not the only person who drives on the road around here. There are many other people. Some are even Integras.
