Default how long do u think a sharpie will last on an interior bulb?

hey guys, well i tried that thing to change the color of my dash lights , i bought testors paint, but i was impatient and just decided to use a blue sharpie, the color came out perfect, but i have no idea how long it will last, has anyone used a sharpie on a bulb? and if so how long will it last?

should i keep it , or paint over the bulbs now?

all of my dash illuminates amber thanks to sharpie. the technique is to cover the bulb in sharpie, let it dry, then cover the bulb in sharpie again in the opposite direction. it will make the bulb look like it has wet and dry spots , but this way it has the most coverage. any way mine fades just a little after the first month then just stays the same. Ive had mine sharpied over 2.5 yrs now, incuding all my autometer lights, still looks great.

yo, I wanted to do the same thing, and I was like all pissed 'cause they didn't come out worth of ****

then I found http://www.autolumination.com -- heard the bulbs are good, recently bought 11 24's, and 7 74's (2 sets +1 extra of each) of a red bulb so I could do my interior lights O.o

I'm hopin they come, hopin they gonna be nice, I'll let u know, the site was in a how-to on ht, I guess he was happy with his...

They're cheap too, like under a buck per bulb, which is about right because they're like 1.90 ~~~for 2 bulbs at autozone

I posted this question about a couple of days ago....I have my fog lights sprayed with Krylon yellow stained glass paint and they have held up great for the past 6 months or so...I assume if the paint can withstand the fog light it will withstand a cluster bulb...Im going to try this within the next couple of weeks, for my cluster bulbs....The testors competition orange faded really bad on my friends coupe...

lol doesnt' sound like it would last very long, wouldn't the sharpies go off because of the heat? i don't know, don't quote me on that.

maybe because he doesnt like taking his cluster, dash buttons, and climate controls in and out every night and hed like to find out first how long this light bulb modification will last. if you dont like it you dont have to put your pointer on it and click it.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by pjr710 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">5thgen they said like ppl like me can't buy them .. </TD></TR></TABLE>

your right, maybe he doesn't, but then again he won't have to if he wasn't a cheap and just replace the damn bulbs!
