Default Fixing warped bumpers

Hey all, got my hatch back after my relatives couldn't figure out how to actuate/kept forgetting where all of the kill switches in my car were after about 3 weeks. Well, I was glad to get it back, but they left it baking in the Cali sun for 3 weeks in their driveway!

My bumper was warped before, but it's been getting progressively worse...question is:

Does anyone know how to DIY fix a warped bumper? I'll try to get some better pics later, but fellow hatch owners can probably sympathize with me. The upper area where it screws into the support is wavy. I've heard of using a heat gun, but will that damage the paint/how should I go about doing it?

Thanks ahead of time.

i had that happen to a bumper that was in a hot/cold attic for a while and was set a little funny.

i just left it in the same place, but put it face up (sitting on the flat back part, with the licence plate facing straight up) and put a couple old tires on it to weigh it down and keep the correct shape. don't know how long it took, but everything is back to normal a few months later.

now when i store any plastic parts i take extra care to make sure they are kept in the right shape.

Was this with or without a bumper support attached? Just asking because the bumper seems to be warping outwards between where it's attached to the bumper support (figures). Wavy bumpers look .

Yeah, but apparently they kept forgetting to hit kill switches/disabling security thus stranding them until they could call me and figure out what needed to be done with what. Then they left the car out in the sun for 3 weeks before calling me up to give it back lol.
