Default so close to 10s with a stock b16 motor!

The car is owned by one of my friends, Randy, and we took the car to the texas shootout and ended up running a best of 11.05 @ 126. the track officials would not let us run again due to the fact that we did not have a cage.

Congratulations Philip you guys put up some sick times for stock motors.
What’s the story with your car? I hadn’t seen any updates on it here recently.

Why would some one say stock motor if they had pistons and rods???

based on the trap hes prolly making ~400whp...stock motors will hold that for a bit.

the car weighs 2330 with him in it. the motor has the original stock b16 rods and pistons.

the motor that is in it has gone through hell. his last stock motor broke a valve retainer and sent a valve banging around. when he changed the motor out he forgot to clean the intake manifold out and some of the valve seat from the previous motor went into the newer motor. It banged up the piston and the head pretty bad but we cleaned it up and re-used the headgasket and that motor is still in it after a few months.

my car is collecting dust and some nice parts! it should be a nice set-up when it is all done.

Nice! I sold my old One Fab top mount, 3" dp, ic piping, GT4088R with .95 A/R, PTE 750 IC etc etc and the owner put it in his car with a BONE STOCK B16A also, made 440whp with 18psi I can't wait to hear what he runs with it too. I am gonna pick up a stock B16A motor too UNTIL my built motor get's done

awesome time! Go out there next week and give it another shot. Thats almost there, 10's are at ur door.

I came close also 2 weeks on on my stock B18A topend. Tranny was messing up and missed the 3rd & 4th gear shifts. 11.3 still was close..

Nice 60' I would love to get some of those short times, I guess those 25" tires help that a little!

Hell yea man, good numbers..It really isnt far off from a 10 sec. pass..

My buddy has a stock type r motor in his hatch and ran 10.67@ 138 valve cover never removed so, im sure you have more room for improvment as well...

i think there is a little more room for improvement in the tune. we coulndt get the laptop to work on saturday so we had to watch the fjo display for the a/f and try to make adjustments from that using a barrowed (thanks tony) computer.
