can someone with a '00 gsr motor who knows, tell me what that thing is on the top and in the middle of the intake manifold with the two hoses and the plug is? i think i have the hoses hooked up right where it goes from the charcoal canister to that then the throttle body but what about the plug? this is in a 95 civic with obd1 gsr computer and need to know where to wire this up at if i need to. i think this is a evap device but not sure? lastly...is it important to connect the vaccum line coming from the charcoal canister to anything? i think on the civic it went to the evap purge but don't see anywhere to connect that to on the '00 motor? thanks.

 

i think your talking about the egr. but you explanation was kinda blurry.

 

i'm not sure what i am talking about...because that 'thing', not the intake air temp sensor but the one next to it with the plug coming out the back. it is not on the obd1 gsr intake manifolds...i just need to know now what that is so i can wire it up unless it already is from the harness to the ecu...if that is the case, then i don't want to have to worry about it anymore.

 

ha ha dude dont worry i had the SAME EXACT PROBLEM, and no one here could help me out with it. But i found out were it went, yes one goes to the canister and i forgot where the other one goes but as soon as i get home ill let you know. Um but dont worry its that other hose isnt that important. But i promise ill let ya know,

I know that the 99and ups are diffrent from the 98 and older.

I bought the motor like that.

It's not really my style though. As soon as I put on my skunk2 manifold, it's going to be sold.
The intake manifold is also powder coated.

i think you are referring to the evap. purge valve.

 

bingo! we have a winner!

 

It's the evap purge. My 00 B18C1 doesn't have it connected. It's all emissions issues, you will fail a visible check and lose a little gas mileage.

Guardson got it, it's the Evap purge solenoid. Not a big deal and it doesn't do jack for performance but it is one of the things they check on the visual smog inspection.
