why are my gears grinding?
This problems been getting worse since yesterday. At first shifting in general was just harder, i had to really force it into gear. And then i noticed when i downshift, say 4th to 3rd at like 30-35 mph or, theres a high pitch grinding noise (kinda sounds like a power drill). Now its even harder to shift and 3rd and 5th grind pretty noticable when i try to shift into them. The other gears just take force to get into. I changed tranny fluid and clutch fluid today. Master cylinder isnt leaking anything but i dont really know how to check the slave. when i press the clucth it feels like im getting uneven pressure. it feels almost like the clutch "clicks" into different places as i push it in. any help is appreciated. thanks.
the motor and tranny are from a 96 Si but the car is a 95 hatch

did it do it when your car was cold? when i first start my car and drive around for 5 minutes itll be ok.

Could be a bunch of things man. Maybe your throwout bearing is getting stuck. If it you should hear a lil noise. Like a whistle or something, or at least my squeaked. It could be your clutch fluid is low, or there is air in the system. It could be you just need to top off your tranny fluid.
Edit --Just read you've checked the fluid levels. Maybe you clutch is just going out then. Was it changed recently? Do you beat on it? Is the pedal losing pressure too? I'm really suspiscious of your throwout bearing.

the clutch is original, i dont beat on it. i rarely drive the car because im away at school most of the time and i leave the car at home. i wouldnt say im losing pressure totally as much as its just changing as i press the clutch.

my slave is original and the hard line going to it appears pretty corroded. i took pics of it today i just need to find some where to host em.
any reason why this problem doesnt occur when the enging/tranny are cold? also i can shift fine when the cars stopped, dunno know if that could narrow down the problem. thanks for the input so far

anything look wrong with the slave and/or line going to it??
the slave appears to have fluid around it but that could be because i sprayed WD40 on it to loosen the bleeder. i cant remember what it looked like before i sprayed the WD40

have a helper pump the clutch a few times and then hold it to the carpet while you observe the slave cylinder. if the release fork starts creeping back (the slave cylinder start to depress) without your friend letting up on the pedal, then you have a leak somewhere in the system.
but the "power drill" noise deff sounds like a throwout bearing problem

i really dont think its the sycros, someone correct me if im wrong but i dont think syncros get that bad that quickly and not for every gear.

could be the clutch. I broke a strap on my pressure plate and that caused all the gears to grind and it was difficult to get into gear.

would it be ok sometimes? when i drive my car for the first time in the day itll be more or less ok for about 2-3 minutes before it starts getting rough to shift.
