Default AMUSE R1 vs. R1000

Alright. I am about to order. Let me know all opinions. I am planning on doing the R1 without a resonator and an amuse test pipe. If someone can convince me for the R1000 tho, we'll see.

If I had that setup with the R1 would power differences between the R1 with test pipe and R1000 be minimal? It's like the same thing right? Just a quarter inch extra of piping? Also, as far as smog tests go, I figure it would be a lot easier changing a test pipe than the whole exhaust.

Let me know everything!

1/4" does quite a bit for flow, but for an N/A car 2.5" should suffice.

i hope you have a lot od patients ... its pretty hard to and takes forever to get amuse now (its not even all that lol) ...

Ben (from bulletproof) "And yes, unfortunatley Amuse is VERY slow recently. Amuse distribution totally changed during the last couple of months. It is a lot more expensive to get Amuse now, so although I may order a couple more exhausts for stock, I expect the Amuse market to slow down because costs have gone up and difficulty to obtain the product has gone way up. here's a tip, double check with other distributors for availability since different distributors have different priority levels from the manufacturer. I remember when a retailer here said J's parts were on back order and would take forever to get when a simple call to yasu at atsusa revealed parts were in stock and available to ship via speed post ems straight from japan in 5 business days.

amuse right now is a 3 - 6 month wait for parts...

generally it takes 1 week to make the exhaust. if you really want AMUSE, it pays to spend some extra money and Air it in thats what i did. Mine should be here next week

we set up an account with Amuse since they made an office here in the states now. So it shouldnt take too long anymore, since BP was a middle man. That is hopefully.

so much interesting info. amuse usa closed in end 05/begining 06 so if someone is opening up accounts with them i've got a bridge to sell you. as for where is the best...we have a great relationship with them and are the authorized us dealer...i don't know what kind of deal other companies have with them so i can't comment on that. generally we'll have something in stock though...they are one of the few brands other then j's racing, ings and varis that we actually stock an inventory.

no one really has anything in stock, i can be wrong though...you gotta order and wait now unless you air freight it in.

Can't help you there, but wherever you order from, make sure you get your product within the stated time. Make sure that stated time is in writing so nothing unexpected can detour you from getting your deposit or full payment back. If things are coming by ship freight, it's understandable to have a turn around time of 3 weeks to a month, anymore more and you're getting the shaft if the part is in stock in Japan. The US retailer is either waiting to fill up his container, pay other bills before he orders your part, or doesn't care enough to get your part right away. I've seen all of the above occur many times with different retailers.

the difference between r1 w/ test and r1000 will be very very very min.. because your header is 60mm. unless you end up getting header that's 70mm.

the amuse r1 without resonator is good enough for n/a. i have this exhaust and it sounds lovely and offers decent preformance. the r1000 would be a better choice if you're going F/I.
