brakes grinding.
just a quick question. i replaced my pads to some cheap pads on my bros car without having the rotor resurfaced. and it makes a loud grinding sound. took it apart and the rotor is rubbing against the new pad. would i have to resurface the rotor or do i just need to brake in the pads?

Well, I should hope so. Isn't that what brake pads do?
Yes, if you didn't resurface the rotor, then the surface of the rotor won't match the smooth surface of the new pad. It will grind like that for a while until the pad matches the surface of the rotor. You're technically supposed to resurface the rotor every time you change pads, but who has the time/money all the time? I usually do it every other time I change the pads.

yea i knida figure that. i just thought it wouldnt really be this loud since the rotor is pretty dam new. i duno i might just get my rotors turned but it just seems kinda waste since my rotor is practically pretty dam new(about 3-5 month old prob)
Usually, it doesn't matter how old the rotor is. They have mated to the surface of your old pads, and vice versa.
The grinding isn't supposed to be loud at all. Are you sure nothing else is going on here? Is anything metal grinding on it? The plates/sensors on the pads? Something else?

na its not the sensor or anything. i got it fixed though. i think i just needed to break in the new pads but i just said **** it and turn my rotors and broke it in
