Go drive both and decide for yourself. They are pretty much the same car. IMO the RSX-S looks so much better inside and outside than the hideous Civic Si coupe. The hood is only like 2 feet long (j/k maybe 3 feet) and the dash is fugly. The only things i see better on the Si are LSD and um... thats about it.

umm...no..the SI comes with better suspension .... the Si comes with LSD (worth over a grand) ..and if you try to spend $1000 on a quaife LSD for your RSX..you're an idiot...
the SI is also 3grand cheaper and cheaper on insurance and equivalently fast ..running 14.8secs in the 1/4 as some other HT's have said... some RSX-S owners can't even run 14.8...
the SI's also come with Navi and has the same tranny

i AGREE WITH YOU.....Si...i would pick the si over type-s.. si= cheaper to buy than the type-s and cheaper on insurance..plus it has a navi option..and it has LSD

My *** its cheaper to buy. You guys ever seen the mark-up? Dealers cant keep those things on the lot. Right now i can drive up to any Acura dealership and pick up a Type-S for 24-25 OTD/with TTL. The Si's ask for 22-23k and you have to get in line. With navi its another 2 gs. Cost is about the same. Acura service/warranty is better than Hondas.
The Si handles better because of a slighlty tweaked suspension and the LSD. Straightline they are pretty much the same. Looks are subjective but I do prefer my hoods to be longer than an arms length.
Si pros: better handling, new kid on the block, navi option.
Si cons: cheaper interior material than RSX, no leather, DBW is not your friend, less imediate mods, fugly wheels, tacky double dash that will look dated like the 4th gen prelude dashes, 4 less hp =P,
How often are you really gonna push the car to need the extra 10th in handling the Si has over the RSX-S? On the other hand if a ride looks nice it looks nice all the time. =-)
Oh almost forgot Hatches> coupes any day.

look at what you said, "you have to wait in line for an Si" it means that its so good that you have to wait in line.. i'm not hating on the RSX-S..
but you really can get the new si for hella cheaper than Si..plus the RSX-S insurance is expensive..the si isn't that expensive.
i like hte new dash..it looks cool..and i like the interior..
but everyone has their own opinions about cars so whatever..
to the above who said that it's so good you have to wait in line? man, did you ever learn about supply and demand in high school? damn, it's obvious Honda is producing very low numbers of the car. If they could have predicted the surge of teenagers running to the dealers to buy the car they would have produced more and turned a profit. When the dealer marks up the price the dealer gains the profit, so it's in honda's interest to find a balance of supply and demand between the market and dealers for the new SI.
Just because there is a line doens't mean it's hot ****. I'm not saying it isnt, i'm just saying this as a rule of thumb for any product.

Amen! to all that. And that my friends is exactly why I got the Type-S for cheaper than I woulda got an SI.
They are fighting for those damn things!
Supply and demand. All politics.
Like the dude above said... this has been covered and beaten to death. See that link he posted. I'm sure you will be happy with your decision either way.
Good luck on the new ride!

Who care's which is cheaper this is your decision? and your asking honda-tech for advice? most people on here won't even spend $1000 on a car cuz their cheap as hell. Im happy with my type S and IMO it looks a million times better than the new Si but choose what you like. If money is an issue then get the si. Since their equally fast choose which one you like better *** honda-tech when asking what kind of car is better I learned the hard way but asking people here.

Haha
, but seriously, I agree with this guy, especialy on the DBW aspect as well as the MAF sensor, both of which scream homosexual

and to be honest if you realllllly want an lsd and don't want to shell out the cash for the better quaife, just open the honda parts catalog, get the lsd out of the new si...or wait till someone totals one hehe

duh..i'm in econ right now..i find it very boring. so i just think about other stuff like cars during that class.
o yea...i wasn't thinking in terms of supply and demand wise when i was saying, "oh cuz you have to wait in line for the si because its good...blah blah blah"

there you go...IMO i like both but one is more expensive then the other one..i would go with the Si, cuz i would be able to afford it and i will have a pretty good car that would have a chance to hang with the Type-S...if the 05-06 Type-S is cheap on insurance then i would get one but its not..
i really like the 06 si so i would get it. i like the dash and the looks of it.

Is anyone else tired of having the same topics? I myself was torn between the two when I was looking to buy. IMO they are both 2 totally different cars. One has a little more value and potential, the other is more refined.. I myself got a great deal on my type-s that I couldnt pass up.
A few things to consider:
1.)Si's insurance is about $60 cheaper a month for basically the same car.
2.) After you add the body kit, rims, and Navigation it cost more than the RSX!
additionally, after you purchase new rims and tires (stock Si's are fugly) the cars come close to the same price.
Just a few things to think about, but its like everyone has said. Dont listen to anyone on here about which one is better, its all subjective man, You will be happy either way

Almost forgot. You cant tell a Si apart from a ordinary Coupe. Only the grill is different, the rims are uglier than the EX's and it has that tacky wing. Inside its pretty much the same except for material.

1. i can get the Si LSD for $699 and/or the ITR LSD around the same price, so toss "worth over a grand" out the window
2. not all people on HT will run a 14.8 1/4 in their Si, just like how all people will not run 14.8 in their RSX-S
3. the tranny is almost the same, the Si has the TSX 6th gear
lets try to look at things from an objective perspective.
