Default Can anyone please identify this part?

I'm helping my friend with an engine buildup after he blew his old engine and unfortunately he can't remember where this little pin/dowel goes. He thinks it came from somewhere around the head but I can't find anywhere where it might belong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

almost, those have a groove in them... it could be the picture but it looks like his pin doesnt have a groove.

Im with everyone else - the pin that locks the vtec rocker. Is he just missing one of these? What motor?

It kinda looks like the dowel pin that goes in between the block and the transmission.

It looks like the pin that locks the rocker arms in place when in vtec.

Those are hollow dowel pins that are between the block and head, also the transmission and block. The pin we are looking at is solid.

oil pump relief valve is probably 3/8 or a bit bigger in diameter. that pin looks to be 3/16 or 1/4"

Wow! Thanks or all the help guys! Didn't expect so many replies. Checked it out yesterday according to your suggestions and the answer is..........the pin that goes on the rockers. Most of you got it right. It was laying around and we couldn't find where it belonged on the head. Nothing was missing on the head. The head was worked on by Alaniz Tech. and he apparently replaced it himself without us knowing. Thanks a bunch.
