Default 97 del sol b16a2 into 97 civic ex "yes i searched"

ok i am picking up a 97 del sol b16a2 drop out in a few hours .......... im planning on putting this in my 97 ex but ........ i have searched to try to find out if im going to be able to use the del sol harness or am i going to have to modify my existing ex harness ...... from searching it seems alot of people have no clue that there is a ob2a b16a2 avaliable ...... i couldnt even find out if the harness from a del sol is a 1 piece harness going to the ecu like my ex or if it plugs into the harness plugs into the cabin harness since the del sol is a eg chassis any help will be greatly appreciated

the car is OBD2A but the motor is B16A3.and you should be able to use your harness since both are OBD2A and both wired for vtec.

retract previous statement. 96-97 are B16A2.

the Del Sol's shift linkage is different. you will need the 99-00 Si shift linkage, and i think you can use a GSR shift linkage also (not sure).

you can use your existing harness with the addition of a KNOCK SENSOR. or just plug and play the del sol harness

nothings diffrenet .. a obd2 b16 into an 97 ex is a drop in with the correct b series mounts.. for the ecu you can use a obd2 p72gsr ecu, or convert to obd1 and use a chipped p28 program , also since the del sol b16 came out the eg chasis you will need to change the upper timing belt mount..! you will need all 99-00 si mounts

yes... but in my case I had a DX I had to wire.. vtec, knock, re-wire IACV... your ex should be wired for those things im unsure about the knock sensor on your ex... the eg/integra share the same mounts when doing a b series swap... when you swap a b series into a 96-00 civic chasis you will need the mounts out of an 99-00si

If you know the answer, why ask the question?

YOu can use a chipped p28 ecu if you buy a conversion harness.
Use your stock ex harness and all needed plugs should already be there. you will need to extend the iat sensor plug. Do not use the gsr ecu because it will not run good. Use the delsol obd2a ecu. You will need to buy a block mount that from 99-00 si and reuse your stock rubber mount. You cannot use the delsol shift linkage because it will not be long enough you can use 94-00 gsr or 99-00 shift linkage
