Looking to pick up a carbon fiber hood and Mugen replica kit soon. Wanted to know where I could get the best price for both? Talked to one vendor who said VIS is raising their prices soon to based on "a shortage of carbon fiber" lol. Sounds like bs, but it's their right to raise prices for whatever reason.

 

i have heard that VIS is rasing their prices, but i dont think its cause a shortage, lol. why not go seibon? they make CF kits that look awesome but thats my .02

 

there is a shortage of carbon fiber. not bs its real i have a guy at seibon who told me about this plus a guy at sportcompactonly.com was told that too. i would check http://www.sportcompactonly.com for the hood they are relatively cheap and 100% authentic. ebay will prolly be the cheapest but you run into the issue of it being a fake!

 

Seibon cf hood is $500 shipped. That's the same I can get for a VIS cf hood. I guess I'll have to hurry and buy them now. Man...it sucks having a car no longer in production. All the JDM OEM Honda parts are getting more expensive or discontinued.

i have a vis hood now, its a pos. maybe its my fault for not taking the best care of it. so i just ordered a new Carbon Creations hood from sportcompactonly.com we'll see how that goes. HOW THE HELL IS THERE A CF SHORTAGE?

 

Well i havent had problems with either of my ViS hoods. so i have to give a to them. I really don't understand why some people have had so many problems. And there is a shortage thing. It took me a couple months for me to get mine and the people I bought it from had me call straight to ViS and they explained it all. But if you find someone who has one in stock, go for it

 

It's an aritifically created shortage just like how the oil and gas companies do it to drive up their profit margin. =] I have no idea, but either way prices seem to be on their way up.

 

yo the carbon fiber shortage is foreal i went to a plastic shop about 2 months ago and the military is using carbon fiber im not sure for what but they are taking all of it and the prices on carbon fiber are all going up
