Default need help

First time posting so bare with me...
Me and some friends just finished our first swap (d16z6 into 95 cx) everything went okay but when we try to hook up the battery sparks come out of a ground. A lot of people have told us that its a short to power or ground, but how do we fix it though? The ground that sparks is the one on the transmission. Any help would be very apreciated. T.I.A.

It might be the starter housing wire inside that it touching. My did the same until I check everything and I took off the starter and the positive wire inside the starter was touching the housing of the starter. Check that to see if the starter is the problem.
