ok i put a ls block to a gsr head....no check engine lights....but theres a reallllllllly bad sound coming from the valvetrain under load....like 2500rpm+....when my cam gears are at TDC....my crank pulley is off TDC by like 2or3mm would this cause the wierd shakin/chatter noise from the valvetrain????btw its about 2-3 mm retarded

 

well then obviously the timing is off.At tdc on the crankpulley the cams should line up.everything ned to be perfect

yeah when putting on a vtec head on a ls block, it is ideal to use a vtec timing belt and a vtec waterpump...

 

yes i have the gsr belt and gsr water pump...its only retarded a little bit but i guess it has to be PERFECT ill be sure to check tommorow mornin wen i readjust that timing....ill post the news

 

2-3mm on the crank pulley wouldn't amount to anything noticable. We are probably talking less than 1/2 a degree. Most adjustable timing gears aren't even that close when set at 0*. You're problem probably lies elsewhere.
