JDM ITR shift knob or Skunk2???
Hey guys, I need a new shift ****, and was just wanting opinions on whether I should go with the JDM ITR shift **** or the Skunk2. I have heard good things about the Skunk2 because it is weighted (440 grams). Anyone know the weight of the JDM ITR shift ****??
Opinions in general?
Thanks....

The JDM ITR shiftknob is weighted too, although I think that the Skunk2 is heavier. I sucked it up and bought one for my Civic about two years ago. It's been on my Si, R, and now GS-R and I love it

If your getting the Skunk2 ****, heres a little tip for fitting it: Dont use the locking nut that comes with it as it leaves the **** sitting too high and kinda stupid looking IMO. What i done was test fit the ****, as tight as i could physically get it, and naturally the numbers were upside down, so i took it off again and cut the top thread off the shifter and test fitted it again, it was still off, so took it off and filed/dremelled the top and kept test fitting it till i got the numbers dead square when it was on as tight as it would go. It took maybe 5 or 6 test fits to get it right, but it looks so much better sitting lower and in turn shortens the throw slightly too.

He speaks the truth. On my stock shifter, the damned unit sat wayy too high. It looked odd, and the throw didn't feel as short as my Spoon ****. If you check in the sponsors forum I've heard they have a replica Skunk **** which is threaded deeper into the **** itself, which should allow for it to sit lower.

Have you ever tried the Skunk2 ****? I guess JDM is always better..

I had the skunk2 for a while on my GSR and got pretty accustomed to it. When I bought my Type-R it had some ghetto, fake CF, stick-type shift **** that was light.... I liked how I felt more in control shifting rather than the shifter falling into place while shifting (like with a heavier **** ie. skunk2), so I'm still rockin it
i have a skunk2, but i'm not using the stock nut, i'm using an S2K nut and it sits nicely.
only draw back with mine is that the titanium finish is starting to tarnish away now.
you can barely see the skunk2 on it, i've had it for almost 4 years now.

I actually have. I've tried the Junk2, Blox, USDM ITR, EDM ITR and JDM ITR and find that shifting is so much better with the JDM ****.
