Default Identify this sway bar

I've just been wondering which brand sway bar i have on my EG. I got it about 5-6 years ago off of some ones DC, so i've never known which manufacturer its from. It measures about 22mm and has hyme joint end links. It makes a bit of knock noises but i've grown acustomed to it. There is very limited body roll with this bar due to the size and end link design. possibly an old school comptech piece?? what do u think.

I believe it is an ITR 22mm bar with a whacked out hemispherical joint connection.

That is not the right connection. You can get the "right" connection off of a GSR that will prevent any possible binding that you may be experiencing.

Also, you may want to support your sub frame, QUICKLY, with some kind of re-enforcement, i.e., Beaks Kit or whatever or you will tear out your sub frame.

Who knows, that grinding may be the sub frame starting to talk to you now. If it is, pull that thing off, immediately, until you can install the build up.

Definatly looks like an ITR bar to me, and those endlinks are really wrong... but new endlinks would probably solve your knocking noise.

DC/EG chassis don't have as much of a problem with subframe tearout like EK/EM's do.

ummm that dont look like a jdm23mm itb bar or a usdm itr bar

honda oem uses a rounded ends on the sway bar so the oem end link has room to rotate when the suspension moves up and down....

My guess is that is an early generation Comptech bar. I know that the Comptech bar used to be shaped like the OEM bar and it looks like there are blocks beneath the D bracket. As far as the clunking sound, with those types a endlinks you will always have that. It is something I got used to long ago.

I've had this piece for about 5 years since 2001, and i got it used so it could be even older. It really does looke like the type R bar but i really don't think it is. I don't have one to compare to tho. And yeah it does have metal blocks under neath the D brackets. If it were a Type R bar, the person who originally bought it didn't use any oem hardware to mount it. I'm probably gonna get a brace to mount it to when i get a chance, but i'm not too worried about any damage. I've had it on for about 50-60k already.

I am going to throw in another possible point of confustion to muddy the waters.

Could it be a Neuspeed bar? I have one on my CRX and the black non-adjustable bar in urethane pivot mount with spherical bearing down links is consistant with their products. Considering it has Neuspeed dampers on teh car, maybe the car came as a package.

My CRX Suspension Techniques bar is dark grey and adjustable, don't know if the ST bars for your car are the same.

so reading this thread you might as well just call it whatever bar you want it to be.
sorry I cannot help more, just had that to say.
