I got my top cut last night.

Weird thing is they didnt take anything. They fucked up my car looking for something, but left my mods/wheels/CDs/New bottles of tranny/differential fluids and oil..

Im sooo ******* pissed. I have to admit, Im a person who does not cry worth of ****--but this did it... And now that my car has been tainted, I dont want to drive it anymore.

Whats worse is that Im a firm believer that car thefts/vandalizing are usually by someone you know.

If you want to repair it....get a quote from a dealership and go through insurance to get the money.

Then buy my soft top, have someone local help you install it, then use the extra money left over to buy a hardtop, locking wheel lugs, and an alarm.

I'll sell you the soft top cheap, so that way you'll have extra $$$ to buy everything else in that list.

That actually sounds pretty good. She used to sell insurance, so I think she knows what to do. Just gotta get over the being pissed part.

Yeah, insurance-wise that would be a good idea... But the problem is, I have nowhere to store the car. So I have no choice but to take it to the dealership today and just leave it there, which means I gotta get it fixed there to avoid paying storage fee's.

Im so angry I feel like I cant get even breathe... I cant get enough air into my lungs. Whats worse--I doubt Ill be able to go to track day. I cant file a claim till my mom gets back from vacation (2 wks).

She's the one insured for this car (Im too young, woulda been too expensive for full coverage. I have my own seperate cov though-non owners which is liablilty only) and they wont let anyone but her file the claim. And yes for all you crybabys, I AM the one who pays for the car. =T

That sucks. It's a good thing they didn't take anything. Maybe they got spooked in the middle of it. Perhaps a kevlar-lined top will solve the problem?

Sorry to hear this Christina. Its very sad, especially considering it was just cut and nothing taken. Have you made any enemies recently? Some pissed off ex/guy?

Like others have said, get the claim through insurance and then do the work yourself or maybe Dang could help with it. For now, just duct tape it and it will hold together without issue. Good Luck with the insurance! I know its a pain in the butt to deal with.

that ****** sucks *****, when i first bought my condo, someone ****** did that exact same thing to me, but they did steal my cds that ive had for a few years, felt like driving my car off a cliff after that cuz want all my **** to be original, just how i am...

as far as getting money for the car from insurance, they will write a check to whomever fixes it, and it usually has to be one of their shops or a shop that you know, if its not one of their shops, i dont know if they will warranty the work or not. you would still have to pay the deductable tho...which is non-refundable if they dont find who did it, do they have cameras in that parking garage? hope it all works out, thats my story, and what happened to me when someone diced up my top

 

Ahhh, Beb sorry to see this. Being a man of many misfortunes myself, I feel your pain.


Good luck, and carry one of those collapsable batons with you and when you see em, whip it open and crack their heads open.

If they rummaged through your car like you said, that person had to be pretty small and agile to get through that top without denting or stepping on your hood and or the rest of your exterior.
